Clinical Standards & Patient Safety

Cosmetic injections are medical procedures. The Kansas City medspa market is unregulated by national standards, so the level of clinical care behind your treatment matters more than the price tag. Here is exactly how we keep you safe.

RN-Led Care, Always

Every cosmetic injection at KC Med Spa Group is performed by a licensed Registered Nurse with advanced aesthetic training. We do not use technicians or unlicensed staff for medical procedures. Our injectors complete continuing education on facial anatomy, neurotoxin dosing, dermal filler technique, vascular complications, and emergency response.

Missouri Board of Nursing Oversight

Our practice operates under the Missouri State Board of Nursing and Missouri Division of Professional Registration. All RN licenses are verified, current, and in good standing. Aesthetic services that fall under the practice of medicine are performed under appropriate medical-director supervision as required by Missouri law.

Consultation & Informed Consent

Before any treatment, patients receive a free in-person consultation that covers medical history, current medications, allergies, treatment goals, realistic expected outcomes, alternatives, and potential side effects. Written informed consent is obtained for every procedure. We never pressure patients into same-day treatment.

FDA-Approved Products, Sourced Direct

We use only FDA-approved Botox® (Allergan), Dysport® (Galderma), Daxxify® (Revance), Juvéderm® (Allergan), Restylane® (Galderma), and Kybella® (Allergan), purchased directly from the manufacturer or authorized U.S. distributors. We do not use grey-market, foreign-sourced, or compounded neurotoxins. Lot numbers and expiration dates are tracked for every patient.

Sterile Technique & Single-Use Needles

Every injection uses a new, sterile, single-use needle. Treatment areas are cleansed with medical-grade antiseptic before injection. Multi-dose vials are reconstituted per manufacturer guidelines and discarded according to product-specific stability windows. Sharps are disposed of in compliance with OSHA bloodborne-pathogen standards.

Adverse Event & Emergency Protocols

Hyaluronidase (the dissolving agent for hyaluronic-acid fillers like Juvéderm and Restylane) is stocked on-site and available immediately for any suspected vascular occlusion. Our injectors are trained in BLS/CPR and follow written protocols for vasovagal events, allergic reactions, and filler complications. Patients receive a 24-hour follow-up contact for any post-treatment concerns.

Conservative, Natural-First Philosophy

Our internal standard is to under-treat first and add more if needed at a 2-week follow-up — never the other way around. We will decline to treat any patient when, in our injector's clinical judgment, a treatment is unsafe, unlikely to achieve the patient's goal, or inappropriate for their anatomy.

Patient Safety FAQ

Are your injectors licensed?

Yes. Every cosmetic injector at KC Med Spa Group is a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Missouri. Licenses are publicly verifiable through the Missouri Division of Professional Registration. Aesthetic medical procedures are performed under appropriate medical-director supervision per Missouri law.

Where do your Botox and fillers come from?

All neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport, Daxxify) and dermal fillers (Juvéderm, Restylane, Kybella) are purchased directly from the U.S. manufacturer or an authorized U.S. distributor. We do not use grey-market, foreign-sourced, or compounded neurotoxins. Lot numbers and expiration dates are recorded for every patient treatment.

What happens if there's a complication?

We stock hyaluronidase on-site for immediate reversal of any suspected vascular occlusion involving hyaluronic-acid filler. Our injectors are BLS/CPR certified and follow written protocols for adverse events. Every patient receives 24/7 access to a clinical contact for the first 48 hours after injectable treatments.

Will I be pressured to add more units or syringes?

No. Our internal philosophy is to under-treat first. We schedule a complimentary 2-week touch-up assessment for every neurotoxin patient — if more product is needed, it can be added at that visit. We would rather have you come back for a small top-up than over-treat on day one.

Can I get a copy of my treatment records?

Yes. Patient records, including products used, lot numbers, dosing, and treatment locations, are documented for every visit. You may request a copy of your records at any time by emailing the clinic.

Do you treat patients who are pregnant or nursing?

We do not perform neurotoxin or dermal-filler injections on patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. We are happy to provide skin-care guidance and certain non-injectable treatments — please call to discuss what is safe during this time.

Have a clinical question before booking?
